Kentucky AgVets

Connecting Kentucky Veterans to Agriculture Opportunities

Thank you for visiting our resource page to learn more about the Connecting Kentucky Veterans to Agriculture Opportunities program! Through this program, we are working with key organizations throughout Kentucky to provide educational opportunities, hands-on training and access to funding resources. Our main goal is to make sure veterans and active duty servicemembers have access to the training, education and funding resources needed for their current or future operations.

The Boots to Agriculture AgVets internship is open to transitioning service members at Fort Campbell in their last six months of service. To learn more about what opportunities are available, check out our host profile page here

Kentucky AgVets FAQs

  • Any veteran or transitioning service member who is interested in learning more about how to start, or expand, an agriculture business in the state of Kentucky.

  • Transitioning service members who are interested in participating in an internship or CSP program through Fort Campbell or Fort Knox during their last 6 months of active duty.

Who qualifies for the program?

  • Along with our partners, we have identified farmers and agribusinesses who are willing to host in-person and hands-on workshops. These workshops will outline key production and business considerations for horticultural production, livestock production, and farm equipment and facility maintenance.

  • Participants will also have the opportunities to attend relevant classes, either online or in-person, through KCTCS.

WHat Types of workshops will be offered?

Do you offer any funding for veterans?

  • The only funding that KCARD directly offers is the AgVets Educational Stipend for veterans interested in attending agriculture-specific conferences, workshops, and other events.

  • Through our services, KCARD can help veterans identify and apply for helpful funding opportunities that may exist through local, state, or federal programs.
